The flood situation has worsened further in different districts of the country, particularly in the northern areas. The water flows in the rivers Padma, Brahmmaputra, Teesta, Dharla, Arial Kha and several other rivers rose further on Tuesday.
Alongside with deterioration of the flood situation, river erosion in several parts also made a number people homeless, as their homes went into the riverbed in the last couple of days. The road communications in several other parts also collapsed due to ongoing flood. For this reason, the local administration is facing hindrance to distribute the relief materials.
In this backdrop, thousands of people in the country were marooned and they are crying for relief materials and other necessary assistances. Although the government is allocating relief items and cash money and the local administration is distributing these among the flood affected people in several areas of the country, these assistances of the government is insufficient to the needs of the flood victims. For this reason, the flood victims are facing acute crisis of dry food and pure drinking water. In this backdrop, outbreak of waterborne diseases is seen in the flood affected areas.
Meanwhile, the low-lying areas around the Dhaka city are going to be inundated due to onrush of water from the upstream. The water of the rivers of Buriganga, Turag, Shitalakkhya and Balu- is rising gradually, according to the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC).  
Officials of the FFWC said that the water levels in 35 river stations have marked rises and 37 stations recorded falls. Among the 83 monitored water level stations, water levels at 20 monitored river stations are flowing above the danger marks.
Our Kurigram Correspondent adds: the water flow in the Dharla River was increased by 3 cm further and the water was flowing 19 cm above the danger mark at Setu point in the river. The water in the Brahmmaputra River was also increased by 6 cm and it was flowing above 19 cm of danger level in Chilmari point, while the water was increased at Nunkhaoya point by 5 cm and 6 cm in Kaunia point. Officials of Water Development Board (WDB) said that the water level of all other rivers including, Dudkumer, Phulkumer, Sonavory, Kaljani, Jalchera, Dharoni, in the district was also increased.
The road communications in several parts of the district was broken down due to the flood. Rural road of about 63 kilometers, embankment of about 9 km, at least six bridges and culverts were damaged adversely. The flood affected upazilas are Chimari, Raumari, Rajibpur, Ulipur, Fulbari and Kurigram Sadar upazila. A total of 173 primary schools in the district were inundated by flood water. The schools remained closed.
The people in the district are also crying for the relief materials, as the absence of adequate relief, they are facing acute crisis of food and drinking water. At least 2 lakh people are still marooned in the district. However, the flood victims took shelter on road side, high lands as well as embankment with their belongings, poultry birds and domestic animals leading their lives in sub human condition.
In Gaibandha, the overall flood situation has deteriorated further. The water of the four rivers, flown over the district, rose due to onrush of hilly waters from the upstream and incessant rain in last couple of days. The water flow in the Ghagat River was increased by 1 cm further and the water flow was above 14 cm of danger level. The water in the rivers Jamuna, Brahmmaputra and Kortoya was also flowing over the danger marks in the district. The flood water submerged fresh areas of four upazilas of the district. A total of 35 government primary schools under four upazilas of the district was closed down temporarily as the flood water entered into the class rooms.
Alongside with flood, the river erosion has begun in some areas of Sundarganj, Saghata and Fulchhari upazilas of the district. Several lakhs of people of the upazilas have been affected by the flood and the river erosion. Thousand hectares of seed, transplanted Aman and vegetable fields were inundated.
The flood affected people in the district are experiencing extreme suffering, as they are facing acute crisis of food, pure drinking water and energy. Many people took shelter in high places, as flood water also inundated their houses. The agricultural workers have become unemployed. A large number of people are passing their days with desperate troubles due to the lack of work and relief goods. Although the district administration distributed relief materials, these are insufficient against of needs.
In Lalmonirhat, although the flood situation was improved slight in the district on Tuesday, it worsened further on Wednesday due to continuous rainfall and coming of water of hilly downpour from the upstream through the Teesta River. The water in the Dalia Point in Teesta Barrage was flowing above 35 cm of danger mark.  
The flood inundated more than 25 villages of Hatibandha, Kaliganj, Aditmari and Lalmonirhat Sadar upazilas on Wednesday.
About 10 thousand families were marooned due to the flood. A number of homes were submerged while several flood protection dams were under threatened. The authorities of the WDB asked the people of the areas to move to safer places.
In Madaripur, alongside with deterioration of the flood situation, the river erosion in Padma and Arial Kha rivers has turned into dangerous. Nearly thousand homes on the banks of the rivers went into riverbed due to the river erosion in the past three days in three Unions of Shibchar upazila in Madaripur.
Two educational institutions also went under the riverbed. Several other hundreds houses, educational institutions and markets are now under threatened.
The water flow in the Padma River at Shibchar upazila rose by 4 cm which was flowing over 15 cm above the danger mark. River erosion was also in the Padma River. A vast areas of the upazila were detached from upazila headquarter due collapse of the road communications. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Madaripur GSM Zafar Ullah has already visited the river erosion prone area.
In Sylhet, the flood situation remained unchanged in several upazilas of the district. Fresh areas in Kanaighat and Golapganj upazilas went under flood water on Wednesday. The water of Surma River was flowing over the danger mark.
