Rains to continue: Flood may hit N dists

The Met Office has issued weather forecast saying light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning are likely to occur at many places across the country having the risk of downpour and fresh flood from yesterday.
After severe flood in the northeast including Sylhet, Moulovi Bazar and Hobigonj district last week, new forecast said flood may hit northwestern districts now which may include Gaibandha, Rjshahi, Rongpur and other districts of the northwestern region.
Weather forecast this time said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions.
Moreover, many places in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions may see moderately heavy to heavy rainfall from yesterday in the next 24 hours.
Day and night temperature may fall by (1-2) degree Celsius over the country.
Southwest monsoon is active over Southern part and fairly active elsewhere over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay.
Trough of westerly low lies over Bihar and adjoining West Bengal, it continued.
The maximum temperature was recorded 37.2 degrees Celsius Friday at Jessore in Khulna division and yesterday’s minimum temperature 24.7 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division.
The highest rainfall in the last 24-hour as of 6 am yesterday was recorded 130 mm at Tetulia in Rangpur division.
