Army personnel in a drive recovered arms and ammunition from a criminals’ den at Golachhari in Langdu upazila early Thursday. Tipped-off, a team of army led by commanding officer of Langdu army zone, Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Alim raided at the den and recovered two AK-47 rifles, two Chinese riffles, 152 bullets, four magazines, eight uniforms, and documents and papers of UPDF (United People’s Democratic Front).
The drive was conducted following information that a gang of UPDF men were gathering in the area for committing criminal activities, said Alim. However, none was arrested as the criminals managed to flee the scene sensing the presence of the army men.
