Five murdered in city, Cox’s Bazar

At least five persons, including a tourist and a woman, were reportedly murdered in the capital and Cox’s Bazar district since Thursday night.
Cops recovered and sent bodies to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) and Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy, Police said.
In Cox’s Bazar, a tourist was stabbed to death by some unidentified muggers around 10.30am, said Ranjit Barua, Officer-in-Charge
of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station.
The deceased was identified as Abu Taher Sagor, 19, son of Md. Shafiullah, hailing from Sonagazi Upazila of Feni, the OC said.
In the Capital, Police recovered the throat-slit body of a woman from her residence in the capital’s Tejgaon area in the morning.
The deceased is Milu Milgate Gomes, 65, and resided at Arjotpara of Tejgaon, said Tejgaon Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Faruk Ul Alam.
Besides, local people found a dead body on a boat on the bank of the Turag River on Thursday night, said Uttarkhan Police’s SI Md Anwar Hossain Khan.
The deceased has been identified as Md Simran, son of Nasir Uddin.
A youth’s body was found in a water tank of Janata Bank in Motijheel on Friday afternoon. The victim was identified as Ziaur Rahman, 25, a tank cleaner, said Motijheel OC Omar Faruq.
On the other hand, locals found a torso in an abandoned suitcase on the street near the Kalyanpur Baptist Church in the capital on Friday morning, said Darus Salam Police Station OC Md Selimuzzaman.
