UNB, Gazipur :Five people, including three women, were killed and five others injured in separate road accidents on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Sadar upazila on Saturday. Officer-in-charge of Shreepur Police Station Hafizur Rahman said three female workers died on the spot and five others suffered injuries as a speedy truck crashed into a human hauler, locally known as Leguna, carrying them from behind on Dhaka-Mymensingh road at Bagher Bazar in the upazila around 5pm.The deceased could not be identified immediately. The injured people were admitted to different hospitals and clinics. Besides, a youth, Al-Mamun, son of Tara Miah of Ramgopalpur village of Mymensingh district, and an unidentified pedestrian were killed after a bus collided with a covered van in Borobari area in the city at noon.On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue. Police also seized the bus and the covered van.
