Five brokers held at CMCH

Police arrested five alleged brokers from the Gynecology department (outdoor) of Chittagong Medical College Hospital on Monday.
The arrestees were identified as Shova Dey, Mithhu Rani, Razia Begum, Jahanara Begum, and Sampriti Das, all aged between 40 and 45.
They were luring out patients’ relatives of treatment at ‘low costs’ to other hospitals and private clinics instead of admitting at CMCH and even some of them would seek tips in guise of medical staff, said sources in police outpost at the medical.
 They also used to persuade people coming at the hospital about medical tests and drugs at ‘discount prices’, they added.
Confirming the matter, Jahir Uddin, in-charge of the camp, said they upon repeated complaints apprehended the brokers. Later on, the arrestees were handed over at Panchlaish Police Station for next course of action.
