Fishing in the Kaptai lake has been prohibited for 3 months from first May .
The decision of prohibition of fishing has been taken at joint meeting of Fisheries Department and the District administration of Rangamati held last week , a source said.
DOF sources said, all sorts of fish catching, fish marketing have been imposed for 3 months aimed at increasing the breeding of fish fries in the lake .
Sources said during the prohibition period fish catching, fish transportation, fish marketing, and all ice factories will remain closed Beside the police and RAB deployment, coast guards will be deployed in the lake to resist any kinds of fish catching within the lake area.
Sources said in the meeting of Rangamati district administration, Deputy commissioner of Rangamati, Manager of Fisheries Development Corporation, District Fisheries Officer, Additional Police Super, Rangamati Sadar UNO, Press Club officials and representatives of Fish Merchants’ Association were present.
