One fisherman was killed, two others were injured as launch rammed their boat early Sunday on Kalabadar River near Chandramohan under Barisal Bandar police station.
The victim was identified as Sohel Haoladar, 31, and injured two were Md. Badsha, 22, and Abdul Jabbar, 31, of Veduria under Bandar police station of Barisal, said Mahbubul Alam, officer in charge of the police station.
Inured victims admitted at Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital, said while they were sleeping on their fishing boat, suddenly a passenger launch hit their boat at about 1:10 am.
They became injured and fell in to the river by that hit and local fishermen rushed to the spot rescued them
Among them Sohel declared as dead when brought to Barisal SBMCH and others two admitted at the hospital, they told
The injured victims blamed MV Zahid launch plying on Dhaka-Kalaiya-Patuakhali route, for the accident
Police sources said body of the dead victim sent to SBMCH morgue and case would be lodged in this connection after investigation.
