UNB, Khulna :
A fish trader was shot to death and another person injured by unidentified miscreants in Rupsa Ghat of the city on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Farhan Sumon, 30, son of Mujibur Rahman of Natun Bazar of the city.
Witnesses said a group of assailants opened fire on Sumon around 9 pm, leaving him critically injured.
Bystander Alamin was also injured as he was hit by a stray bullet. Locals took the duo to Khulna Medical College Hospital where the duty doctor declared Sumon dead around 9:30 pm.
The murder might have taken place over establishing supremacy in the locality, said Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
