Fish poisoned to death in Kamalganj

Fishes worth Tk 5 lakh in a pond and an enclosure of a fisher man were poisoned to death by criminals at Karimpur village in Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar on early Saturday .
Affected fish farmer is Alal Ahmed, a fisher man of the Karimpur village in Kamalganj upazila of the Moulvibazar district. His family members alleged an unknown gang poured poison in the fish enclosure .
When contacted, Md. Jahidul Islam Miah, Kamalganj Upazila Nirbahi officer confirmed the matter to The New Nation. I visited the spot . Victim has filed a case in this regard.

The United Nations declared the International Day of Indigenous People’s Day rally for state celebrations.
Different indigenous organizations on Friday voiced their demands for basic rights, constitutional recognition and an immediate end to repression on.
They made the demands on Friday while participating in a human chain in front of Kulaura rail station area under Moulvibazar area at 11am.
At least hundreds indigenous people took part in the demonstration under several banners supporting the cause.
They also asked for cultural harmony between the indigenous people and Bangalis and the immediate implementation of the recommendations adopted by the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHCR) for the development of indigenous communities.
Speaking at the event, the Indigenous people expressed dissatisfaction over the present condition of the indigenous communities in Bangladesh and urged the government to take effective measures to resolve these issues.
