First victory for Sylhet Super Stars

Sylhet Super Stars recorded their first victory in the 3rd Bangladesh Premier League when they beat Comilla Victorians by four wickets in their Twenty20 cricket match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Monday.
Batting first Comilla Victorians made 164 for the loss of five wickets in the regulation 20 overs.
In reply, Sylhet Super Stars reached the winning spot making 166 for the loss of six wickets when they had two balls to spare.
Sylhet Super Stars made a modest start as EMDY Munaweera and Momiul Haque contributed together 32 in the opening stand before Mominul Haque (9) was caught by Liton Das off Abu Haider.
Munaweera hit a marvellous 36 from 26 balls with three fours and two sixes before he was caught at the backward point by Sanzamul Islam when Sylhet’s score was 52 for the loss of two wickets.
Later, Mushfiqur Rahim and Ravi Bopara salvaged their team contributing together 87 runs for the third wicket stand before Mushfiqur Rahim was cleanly bowled out by Nuwan Kulasekera when Sylhet’s total was 139 for the loss of three wickets.
Ravi Bopara notched up exact 50. His 37-ball innings was laced with four fours and a six.
Mushfiqur Rahim hit a worthy 47 from 31 balls featuring four fours.
Abu Haider was the pick of Comilla bowlers. He claimed four wickets for 28 runs.
Ravi Bopara of Sylhet Super Stars also shone with the cherry grabbing four wickets instead of 18 runs.
Earlier, Comilla Victorians made a solid start with Imrul Kayes and Liton Das, the two openers put on together 56 runs in the opening before Liton Das was trapped leg before wicket by Ravi Bopara.
Then Mukhtar Ahmed (1) was caught and bowled by Ravi Bopara when Comilla’s score was 66 for the loss of two wickets.
Bopara struck again as he bowled out Shuvagata Hom (0) when Comilla’s total was 66 for the loss of three wickets.
Later, Ashar Zaidi and Imrul Kayes rescued their team adding together 62 runs before Imrul Kayes was caught by Nazmul Hossain Milon off Ravi Bopara when Comilla’s score was 128 for the loss of four wickets.
Ashar Zaidi remained unbeaten with 53. His 36-ball windy innings was belted with five fours and two sixes.
Imrul Kayes hit 48 from 45 balls featuring two sixes and one four.
Liton Das hit a hurricane 42. His 24-ball knock was decorated with six fours and a sixer.
