First judge dies of Covid-19 in country

Ferdous Ahmed, judge of Lalmonirhat District Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal, died of Covid-19 on Wednesday night.
The judge, who holds district judge status, breathed his last around 8:00pm at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka after testing Covid-19 positive a few days ago, Rezaul Karim, senior information officer of Law Minister Anisul Huq said.
He is the first judge in the country to die of coronavirus, Rezaul said, adding that 26 judges have so far been infected with the deadly virus.
Law Minister Anisul Huq expressed deep shock at the death of the judge. The minister prayed for the salvation of his departed soul and expressed deep sympathy for his family members.
