Country’s first University level IT Business Incubator is going to be build in Chittagong University of Engineering Technology. The initiative will be taken in the first week of the month July, allocated area of IT business Incubator is 5 acres of land, said the authority.
According to the project source, Government has taken CUET IT Business Incubator project to create skilled and modern age fitting manpower for the Information and Technology sector of the country. Prime Minister Seikh Hasina approved the project in ECNEC meeting organized in 6 June, 2017.
Under the supervision of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority the decision to complete the project within 2018 July to 2019 June was taken back then. The estimate budget was 76 crore 91 lac BDT.
Prof Dr Mohammad Moshiul Haque, Executive Engineer of the Project said, ‘they have faced complications in appointing advisory firm and project involved officer transfer was made during the proposed timeline of the project. Overcoming all the issues it will start building the Incubator from the first week of July.’
In addition to the incubator building, two dormitories (1 men, 1 woman) building will be built up to 4 floors including 6 storied foundation. There will be a total of 40,000 sq ft space, each floor 5000 sq ft in 2 buildings. Apart from this, a multipurpose training building will be set up in 6-storey building total of 36 thousand sq ft space each floor is of 6 thousand sq ft; the foundation of the building will be 8-storey.
Vice-Chancellor of CUET, Prof Dr Mohammad Rafiqul Alam said, ‘The youth of the country runs in vain for the hope of job, they fear to become entrepreneurs for the limitations of opportunity they face. Through this IT Business Incubator we will help the students to become entrepreneurs in the sector of Technology.’
‘CUET IT Business Incubator will open new possibilities for the creative youths of our country. Any kind of creative idea can be transformed into creating productive goods in here. The marketing of the produced good will be taken care of by the incubator authorities.’
