First-ever Nat’l Surfing begins April 27

BRAC Chicken 1st National Surfing competition will be held on April 27-28 at the Laboni beach point of tourist city in Cox’s Bazar.
Sponsored by BRAC Chicken and organised by Bangladesh Surfing Association (BSA) a total of 70 men’s and women’s surfers will compete in the two-day meet.
The competition will be held in beginner (junior) event, senior event and women’s event.
Ahead of the competition, the surfers are already started their training, conducted by a 25-member of surfing team “Surfing the Nation” from Huawei, USA.
In this regards, a press conference was held on Monday at the Bangladesh Olympic Association conference room to give all the details of the meet.
BSA president FM Iqbal Bin Anwar said although our surfers have yet to gain full-fledged skillfulness in surfing compared to the other countries, but still we have great possibility about doing well in surfing event as well as to exhibit our country’s image through surfing in the World.”
He also hoped that to make more talented surfers in the country the BSA would organize more tournaments in regular basis in near future.
BSA general secretary Mowajjem Hossain Chowdhury, sponsor BRCA Chicken deputy general manager Saifur Rahman, Bangladesh Tourisume Corporation manager marketing & PR Pervez Ahmed, among others, were present on the occasion.
