First-ever AC bus service launched in Port city

Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation AJM Nasiruddin on Saturday inaugurated first ever air-conditioned city bus services in the port city, ushering in a new hope among the city dwellers.
The people would start using this air-conditioned bus service if they hear that the fare has been lowered”, the city mayor added.The city mayor also observed that the people are ready to spend extra money in the interest of safe and comfortable journey with security.
City Mayor declared the fare of the AC buses for the first three kilometres at Taka 20 and hoped that the newly launched bus service would address the longstanding crisis of quality public transport in the port city.
The mayor said this while launching first ever air-conditioned bus services on Hotel Agrabad premises in the city onaturday evening.
He hoped that the bus service provider Premier Transport Service would make efforts to earn confidence of the people by ensuring their safe and comfortable journey. “I also hope that this project of the Premier Transport would be successful through maintaining its high quality discipline, organizational capacity and integrity as well as relentless efforts,” he added.
Managing Director of Premier Transport Service Golam Rasul Babul declared that they fixed Tk 80 from Khalurghat to Patenga sea beach as fare.
From Sunday, 20 air-conditioned buses of Premier Transport Service will start plying on the roads of the port city, Golam Rasul added.
The 35-seat buses will have internet WI-FI system with full online technology in the buses.
The number of buses would be increased to 50 within December next and these will play on the roads in Chittagong and its adjacent districts, he said.
