First Division Handball League begins today

The Marcel LED Television First Division Handball League begins today at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium. Bangladesh Handball Federation has arranged the handball competition while Marcel is the title sponsor of the meet.
A total of eight teams will take part in the competition. They are: Purbachal Parishad, Monsoor Sporting Club, Jatrabari Sports Academy, Satirtha Club, Puraton Bandura Nabin Setu Sangha, Star Sports, Flame Boys Club and Quantum Foundation. The handball meet will be held on single league basis.
Regarding the upcoming handball competition, a press conference was held at the conference room of National Sports Council Tower on Thursday. Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, General Secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, Chairman of the League Committee Mahbubuzzaman, Assistant Director of RB Group Robiul Hasan Sumon, Secretary of the League Committee Md Ayub Ali were present at the conference.
The budget of the handball meet has been estimated at Tk 4,76,800 while Walton has given a cheque of Tk 4,00,000 to Bangladesh Handball Federation and the Federation will bear rest of the expenditure from its own fund.
The champions will be awarded Tk 25,000 while the runners-up will get Tk 20,000 and the third-place achiever will be given Tk 15,000.
The best player of the league will be awarded home appliance on behalf of Walton.
