GM Saleh Uddin has joined office as the first divisional commissioner of Mymensingh on Monday.
He was the additional secretary to the Environment and Forests Ministry and also the additional commissioner of Dhaka Division.
Administrative officers, civil society members and journalists received him with flowers at the Mymensingh Circuit House.
The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification on 23 November declaring GM Saleh Uddin as the first divisional commissioner of Mymensingh.
Earlier, National Implementation Committee for Administrative Reform (NICAR) on 14 September gave final approval for the constitution of Mymensingh Division as the eighth administrative unit of the country comprising four districts: Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Sherpur, and Netrakona.
