At least three dwelling houses were gutted in a devastating fire at city’s Patharghata area under Kotwali Thana on Wednesday night.
Fire service sources said, the fire originated from an electric short circuit at Baruapara area of Patharghata at around 12pm and quickly engulfed the surrounding houses. Six units of fire service from Agrabad and Bandar fire service stations rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control at about 2-50am, Fire Service sources said.
Properties of eight dwelling houses worth about Tk four lakh were gutted in the fire, the sources added.
