Fire damaged valuables of a private bank in Asadganj area of Chittagong city early on Monday.
The fire originated from an electric short-circuit in a room of Brac Bank’s Asadganj branch-housed on the first floor of a six-storey building-around 12:10am, said Satyaprio Baraua of Chittagong Fire Service Control Room. On information, firefighters rushed there and doused the blaze around 2:00am.
The damaged cased by the fire was estimated at Tk 5 lakh, he added.
