Six people received severe burn injuries as a fire broke out at a garment factory at Kamrangirchar in the city early Saturday. The injured were identified as Nazmul, 19, M Suman, 18, Shakil, 18, Manir Hossain, 18, Ashiq, 14, and M Sajib, 17. In-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police Camp Sub-inspector Bacchu Miah said the injured were sleeping inside the factory at the time when the fire erupted.
The fire originated from an electric short circuit around 4pm and soon engulfed the factory, leaving six people injured. Later, they were whisked off to the burn unit of the DMCH.
