A fire broke out at a building that housed two garment factories- Green Leaf Apparels and Bengal Garments- in the city’s Jigatola on Thursday evening.
No one was in the building at the time and there were no casualties.
Moinul Islam, OC of Hazaribag police station said, the factory was closed for business at 5 p.m. and the fire broke out at 5.40.
Fire Service and Civil Defence Control Room officials said: The fire originated at 5:53pm on the second floor of the five-storied building. Eleven fire fighting units from Mohammmadpur, Palashi and Dhanmondi rushed to the spot and doused the flames for one and a half hour effort.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
