Fire at old town’s Suritola building brought under control

Fire fighters doused a fire that broke out in a four storied building at old Dhaka’s Suritola on Sunday afternoon, the fire service said, reports UNB.
The fire started in a shoe warehouse on the second floor of the building around 4 pm.
Seven firefighting units managed to douse the fire completely at 4:50 pm after 38 minutes, said Md Rayhan, station officer (media), Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters.
No casualties were reported and the amount of damage couldn’t be known yet, he said.
The origin of the fire can be found out after an investigation, he said.
