A terrible fire broke out at a cotton godown at Millgate area in Tongi, Gazipur. The fire broke out at Tongi Millgate Co-operative Market on Thursday morning. At that time, all the goods of three machine houses and seven godowns were burnt.
Abdul Hamid Mia, deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service and Civil Defense, said three units of Tongi Fire Service and two units from Uttara are working to douse the fire.
Initially, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not known.
