Films of different languages on at Shilapakala Academy

Entertainment Desk :A film festival to celebrate the International Mother Language Day started on Tuesday at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the city. The festival has been organised by Department of Drama and Film of BSA. The movies of the festival are being screened everyday at 6pm at International Digital Cultural Archive of Department of National Drama at BSA. The festival will continue regularly till February 29, save February 27. A total of thirteen films of thirteen different languages from different countries are on at the festival which runs with the slogan ?Nanan Bhashar Nanan Chalachitra.? The recent Bollywood hit movie ?Haider? will be screened today. The movie is based on Shakespeare?s epic tragedy ?Hamlet.? It is a modern adaption of the tragedy and involves modern political ploys. The theme of fundamentalism and border crisis in Kashmir are the chief motifs of the film.Other movies selected for screening at the festival include- The Fish Fall in Love (Persian), In the Wild Mountain (Chinese), Mighty Ghor (Nepali), The French Revolution (French), Mrittika Maya (Bangla), The Holyman 2 (Thai), Alexander (English), Bahubali (Tamil), Legend of the Eight Samurai (Japanese), The Mirror Never Lies (Bajau Indonesian), Seven Days (Korean) and Vision Tale (Turkish).On the other hand BSA is conducting a countrywide acrobatic exposition in association with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The show started on February 12 and ended on Friday. A total of eight acrobatic performances will be presented during the show. ?Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Acrobatic Dol? is taking part in the performances throughout the country. This year acrobatic performances have also been presented in the recently claimed enclaves of Bangladesh. In this connection acrobatic performance will be held today at Dashiar Chora enclave of Fulbari, Kurigram.
