To mark the Victory Day, students of Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC) of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a film festival on “Liberation War in Film”. The inauguration ceremony of the festival was held on Tuesday at 71 Milonayoton of DIU.
Prof Dr SM Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Acting Vice Chancellor, DIU inaugurated the ceremony as chief guest where country’s renowned filmmaker Tawquir Ahmed, Dewan Shamsur Rakib, Head of RTV, Actor Maznun Mijan, Sujat Shimul and Shahed were present as the guest of Honour.
Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer, DIU was present at the program as special guest. The inaugural ceremony was also addressed by Sheikh Mohammad Shafiul Islam, Associate Professor, Department of JMC and Dr Towfique E Elahi, Assistant Professor, Department of JMC. Tawquir Ahmed said, film is a medium that can build a nation. This medium is so strong that philosophy and thoughts of a nation can be reflected through this medium. So, film-making is not an easy task.
