Film actress Mukti gave up acting for prayers

Anowara is a legendary actress of Dhallywood. For cinema lovers in Bangladesh, Anowara’s name will always remain in the role of the black-and-white movie Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah’s Aleya or the black-and-white Devdas’s moon-faced role. In addition, in her career spanning more than five decades, she gifted great characters from many timeless movies. Anowara’s daughter Rumana Rabbani Mukti is also an actress. She also wrote her name in movie following her mother’s path. Mukti started her journey in 1993 with movie Padma Nodir Majhi. She came into discussion to act in movie Chander Alo of the same year. She played the role of Alo in this movie against Omar Sani. The viewers were mesmerised by Humayun Ahmed’s delightful movie Srabon Megher Din in the role of a zamindar’s great granddaughter. Mukti also came into limelight to act in movie Hason Raja against Helal Khan. She also acted in several numbers of TV dramas and movies.
While asking her about there was no release of her acted film for more than five years? Mukti herself revealed the reason for leaving her acting.
Mukti said in a Facebook status on October 22 that she did not act for five years because of difficulty in praying.
 Mukti wrote, “Many ask me, why I quit acting? In fact, I had difficulty in praying on time. So, it has been almost five years since I quit acting.”
