Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq yesterday said Freedom Fighters (FFs) will get Taka 8,000 per month as honorarium from July 2015 and it will be increased to Taka 10,000 from January 2016.
Freedom Fighters regardless of their age will be provided with the allowance at that rate, he said.
The minister said these at a rally for Freedom Fighters organized by Hemayet Bahini at Kotalipara of Gopalganj.
“The present government has taken different steps to establish social status of the Freedom Fighters and develop their living standards. A project is being taken up for their housing. The housing complexes will be built in all the districts and upazilas of the country,” he said.
Earlier, the minister offered Ziarat and placed wreaths at the mazar of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Later, he visited Hemayet Bahini Memorial Museum at Kotalipara and distributed money and relief goods among the destitute.
