UNB, Chandpur :
A freedom fighter was killed and three other people sustained injuries in a road accident at Chotura of Faridganj upazila on Sunday evening.
The deceased was identified as Suvas Majumder, 61, a freedom fighter and resident of Borali village in the upazila.
Mohammad Shah Alam, officer-in-charge of Faridganj Police Station, said the accident took place around 7:30pm when a sand-laden truck hit a scooter, leaving Suvas and three other people injured. Locals took them to Faridganj Upazila Health Complex where doctor referred Suvas to Chandpur General Hospital. However, he died on the way to the hospital.
