The BABISHAS Awards 2019-2020-2021 will be given by Bangladesh Cultural Journalists Association at Krishibid Institution of Bangladesh in the capital’s Khamarbari area on January 22. These awards will be given
in categories of film, drama, music, dance, advertisement and journalism. The five times National Film Award winning actor Ferdous and National Film Award winning actress Purnima will get the honour. Both Ferdous and Purnima confirmed to attend the ceremony. This time Mamunur Rashid and Chhotku Ahmed will get the Lifetime Achievement Awards. Kumar Bishwajit will also get the awards in the field of music.
Ferdous said, “It is really a grateful matter for actor to get BABISHAS award. I give thanks to them who are giving me the award.” Purnima shared her feelings by this way, “I give thanks the organisers to select me for the award.” Organisers said that the award giving ceremony will start at 4:00pm where Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud MP will be present as chief guest, while Planning Minister MA Mannan MP, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Ministry Md Zakir Hossain MP, former Railways Minister Mujibul Haque Mujib, ATN Bangla Chairman Dr Mahfuzur Rahman, PNITI International Director Mohammad Akram Khan and Nagorik Dhaka President M Naim Hossain will be present as special guests on the occasion. Shahfiul Alam Babu will anchor the first part of the event while Shanta Jahan and Imtu Ratish will anchor jointly in the second part of the show.
