Feni District team clinched the Sailor BFF National U-15 Football title beating Narayanganj District team by 2-0 goals in the final at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Sunday.
Champions Feni District team awarded with prize money of Tk two lakh while the runners-up Narayanganj District team received Tk one lakh as prize money.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder MP witnessed the final as chief guest and later he distributed the prizes.
SAFF and BFF President Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin and Managing Director of the meet’s sponsor Epyllion Group Raizuddin Al Mamun were also present.
In the day’s final, Nurul Absar put Feni ahead in the 41st minute tapping the ball into the net, off a Abdulklah Arbar Rajan pass, came his way slipping from Narayanganj goalie Antar Kumar (1-0).
Feni doubled the margin in the 54th minute when medio Sarwar Hossain found the net by a powerful rebounder, off a Iftekhar Hossain free kick. came his way from goalie Antar Kumar (2-0).
Nurul Absar of Feni and Rani Das of Narayanganj jointly received the best player awards.
Narayanganj were reduced to 10 men in the 85th minute as their defender Arafat Hossain got marching order after receiving direct red card.
Earlier, Feni District reached the final with all-win record eliminating Dhaka District by 5-4 goals in sudden death session of tie-breaker as the semifinal match between them was locked in a goalless position in stipulated 90-minute at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Narayanganj District booked a seat for the final also with unbeaten run eliminating Sylhet District also by 5-4 goals in penalty shootout as the semifinal match between two teams was locked in 1-1- at the same venue.
Eight zonal champion teams from initially participated 61 districts took part in the final round in Dhaka at the Bangabandhu National Stadium and Dhanmondi Abahani ground respectively.
