Police of Sadar thana recovered the dead body of a female worker of a factory in Uttara EPZ on Sunday morning from a farmland at Baucha Para village near EPZ under Sangolshi Union of the upazila.
The victim was identified as Shukla Rani Sen (20), daughter of Jogesh Chandra Sen of Bagpur village under Boda upazila in Panchagarh district who was also a worker of a foreign spectacle factory Mazen (BD) Ltd in Uttara EPZ.
Younger sister of the victim Lipi Rani Sen (18) informed police that she along with elder sister Sukla Rani worked as worker in the factory and stayed in a rented house in Bauchapara village.
She also said that though they were workers of same factory but had separate shifts.
The victim’s work period was likely to end at 7.30 pm and Lipis’s work time ends at 6.30 pm.
On Monday evening, as Lipi returned her rented home from work was waiting for coming of her sister.
But after long time of wait Shukla didn’t return which made her worried and came to the factory to know whether her sister was working overtime.
As the officials of Mazen factory informed that Sukla was not there, she along with her neighbours started looking for her elsewhere.
In the morning, locals found the dead body of Shukla in a cultivating field at Baucha Para village near her rented house.
Being informed, police of Sador police station reached the spot and recovered the dead body and sent it to Nilphamari 100-bed hospital for autopsy.
Regarding the matter father of the victim filed a case accusing unknown miscreants.
