The first batch of female members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will formally join the paramilitary force following their march-past on June 5.
“We’ve recruited 100 female members for BGB, and finally 97 of them completed their training successfully. They’ll join the force formally following the march-past which will be held at BGB training centre and school of Baitul Izzat, Satkania in Chittagong on June 5,” said BGB director general (DG) Maj Gen Aziz Ahmed.
He was briefing reporters at Pilkhana BGB headquarters in the city on Thursday. The BGB DG said the female BGB members will be posted in various important places, especially the border point of
Teknaf and Benapole where women smugglers are very much active. “It’ll be easy to check women suspects,” he added.
