A teen age female domestic help at the house of Zakir Hossain, additional district magistrate (ADM) of Barisal, reported as committed suicide in Jordon Road of the city on Monday night.
The victim was declared as dead by the doctor on duty after sent to Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital, at about 11:00 PM Monday, SBMCH sources said.
The victim Rajia Khatun, 13, was daughter of Nurul Islam Dhali from Khunna Gobindapur village under Hijla Upazila of the district, was working as a domestic help since last 2 years at the residence of ADM, who was former UNO of Hijla.
She engaged in love affairs with a neighbouring youth named Milon (16), and wife of the ADM scolding her about that informed parents to get her back to native home.
However on Rajia hanged herself with her scurf on grill of the residence of ADM.
She was brought to Barisal SBMCH immediately, but doctor on duty declared her dead, Zakir Hossain, ADM of Barisal told the Journalist.
Police investigating the matter and sent the dead body to the SBMCH morgue for autopsy, said Shah Md. Awlad Hossain, officer in charge of Barisal Kotwali under Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP).
