The Shamsuzzaman Limited Federation Cup Table Tennis, organised by Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation (BTTF), began at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in Paltan here on Thursday.
Deputy Managing Director of PKSF M Fazlur Kader inaugurated the three-day meet in the afternoon.
BTTF president and former principal secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office M Abdul Karim, BTTF vice president and convener of the tournament committee Halena Morshed and general secretary Khandakar Hasan Monir were also present on the occasion.
On the opening day, Abahani Limited beat Comilla DSA 3-0; Rajshahi DSA defeated Comilla DSA 3-0; Rajshahi again beat Wari Club 3-2 in the women’s team events while Arunima beat Biman 3-0 and Palolik Group defeated Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club 3-1 in the men’s team event.
