The Federation Cup Basketball tournament began on Thursday at basketball gymnasium in the city’s Dhanmondi with the participation of six teams.
Basketball Federation president Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.
In one of the inaugural matches of first day fixture, Dhaka Gladiators beat The Gregs Club by 98-25 points after leading the first half by 41-12 points.
Bappi was the highest scorer with 22 points while Moshiur supported him with 21 points. Antu caged eight points for The Gregs.
A total of six teams, split into two groups, are taking part in the competition, organized by Bangladesh Basketball Federation.
Participating clubs:
Group A- Dhaka Gladiators, The Gregs Club and The Gregarious Club.
Group B – Dhumketu Club, Bakshibazar Club and The Shawons Club.
