A court here on Sunday afternoon sentenced father and his son to suffer life term imprisonment on charge of murdering a youth named Mostafa Kamal of Faridganj Upazila in 2014.
The court also fined them Tk 10 thousand each for this heinous act. The court sentenced three other accused people to suffer imprisonment for five years each and fined them Tk 5 thousand for their involvement in the case.
The District and Sessions Judge Md Zulfiqur Ali Khan delivered the judgement.
The convicted lifers are – Abu Taher , 40 and his son Shohag, 20, both residents of Vaterhod village under Faridganj Upazila. The three other convicts are Harun, Kashem and Abul Khayer – all inhabitants of the same Vaterhod village under Faridganj Upazila. The victim was identified as Mostafa Kamal ,26, son of Md Serajul Islam of Vaterhod village in Faridganj Upazila. He was a laboratory technician.
The prosecution story in brief is that , on the 3rd October 2014, in a long time feud over land property in the village, the accused grew very enraged and attacked Mostafa Kamal with country weapons leaving him seriously injured. Mostafa Kamal was rushed to Faridganj Health Complex.
