His Excellency the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Chancellor of Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB), Abdul Hamid, has appointed Father Adam S. Pereira, Registrar and former Chairman of the Department of English, as the new Treasurer of NDUB.
This information was given in a circular signed by Shamima Begum, Joint Secretary (Additional Secretary) on 30thNovember 2021.It is mentioned that with the approval of His Excellency the President and the Chancellor, the current Registrar of the University, Father Adam S. Pereira, CSC, has been appointed as Treasurer in accordance with Section 33 (1) of the Private University Act 2010. The term of his appointment as Treasurer shall be 4 years from the date of joining.
“I have been involved with the university since the beginning of the University”, said Father Adam S. Pereira, who was immediately moved by the letter. “I’m glad to have been given this responsibility. I believe that I can contribute to the development of the university with the cooperation of all,” he continued.
Incidentally, on February 4, 2021, the former Treasurer of the University, Father Joseph S. Peixotto, CSC, passed away due to his old age.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Father Patrick Daniel Gaffney, CSC, shared that, “Father Adam has been serving as the Registrar of the University with integrity and efficiency since its inception. I wish him success and good health as a Treasurer.”
Father Adam S, Pereira, CSC, completed his primary education from St. Joseph Primary School, Dharanda, Savar, Secondary School Certificate (SSC) from Savar Adhar Chandra Bohumukhi High School, Higher Secondary Certificate (CSC) from Notre Dame College, Dhaka, and B.A. from the same College under Dhaka University. He studied Philosophy and Theology from the Holy Spirit National Major Seminary.He holds a Master of Science degree in Guidance and Counseling from De La Salle University, Manila, Philippines, and later a Master’s Degree in English Literature. He is currently conducting a PhD research at Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong, India.
