G M Hasan of Environmental Sciences and Mariam Akhter of Archeology department became the fastest man and woman respectively in the annual sports competition of the Jahangirnagar University at the university’s central playground on Monday.
AFM Kamal Uddin Hall became the champion and Mowlana Bhashani Hall became the runner- up among the male dormitories while Sheikh Hasina hall became the champion and Begum Khaleda Zia Hall became the runner-up among the female dormitories.
JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Farzana Islam inaugurated the annual sports competition as the chief guest at about 9 am. Pro-VC Professor Dr. Abul Hossain and Treasurer Professor Dr. Abul Khair addressed the programme as special guests.
JU VC, Pro-VC, Treasurer, Hall provosts and Member of Bangladesh Public Service Commission and Former JU VC Prof Dr. Shariff Enamul Kabir distributed prizes among the winners.
Dean of different faculties, Registrar Abu Bakr Siddique, Provosts of dormitories, president of the sports competition management committee, JU Registrar Abu Bakr Siddique and Director of Physical Education office were present, among others, at the function.
