Farooki’s Doob secures Netflix’s top position

Renowned director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s critically acclaimed feature film Doob is currently streaming Number one on Netflix of Bangladesh. Produced by Jazz Multimedia and Eskay Movies, the movie was released on Netflix on February 5
and it has been ruling on the streaming
site since then.
Mostofa Sarwar Farooki shared his excitement in Facebook, “Thank you, Bangladesh for making Doob (No Bed of Roses) today’s most viewed content on Netflix from Bangladesh! Every film is a labour of love. Some are just more than that. This film is very close to my heart for many reasons! Someday I might be able to write why!”
In a separate post, he also assured fans from the UK regarding the release of the movie there. “So what we could understand from the messages we are receiving, it’s probably available in the US, Australia, Bangladesh, India and some other countries for now. Have received hundreds of queries from the UK and some other parts of Europe! To answer, it’s probably not yet available in Europe! Hope they roll out in Europe and other parts of the world soon!” Farooki also said. Doob: No Bed of Roses was stuck in censor board for a long time due to resembling the personal life of revered author Humayun Ahmed.
The movie was finally released in October 2017 in 73 halls across Bangladesh and India. The movie showcases the life story of a successful filmmaker who faces national scandal due to a tryst with his daughter’s childhood friend.
The India-Bangladesh co-production movie stars late actor Irrfan Khan, Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Rokeya Prachy and Parno Mittra in pivotal roles.
