UNB, Kushtia :
A farmer was slaughtered by miscreants at Balia Shisha village in Daulatpur upazila on Wednesday midnight.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Khan, 35, son of Nurul Khan of Sultanpur village in the upazila.
Police and locals said Abdul Khan along with his wife had been living in his in-law’s house at Balia Shisha village for three years leaving his village home at Sultanpur following rivalry with his cousins.
A group of miscreants, numbering 8-10, stormed the room of Abdul Khan at midnight and slaughtered him after tying his wife with rope and fled the scene.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Additional Superintendent of Police Sohel Reza of Kushtia said the man might have been killed over past enmity with his cousins (sons of paternal uncle) as he had left village home for the rivalry with them.
