A total proposed budget of Taka 164 crore 59 lakh 84 thousand for the 2015-16 fiscal year of Faridpur Pourashava, the biggest ever in size since the establishment of this local government institution in 1869, was unveiled yesterday in the meeting of Town Level Coordination Committee(TLCC) here at local Ambica Memorial hall Wednesday giving special emphasis on infrastructure improvement.
Mayor of Faridpur Pourashava Sheikh Mahatab Ali Methu announced the proposed budget in presence of a large number of citizens of this pourashava.
The revised budget of the outgoing 2014-15 fiscal was Taka 34 crore 50 lakh 50 thousand 586 while the new budget for next fiscal stood at Taka 164 crore 59 lakh 84 thousand.
In the budget document an amount of Taka 21 crore 75 lakh 81 thousand 92 was shown in the revenue head, Taka 8 crore 52 lakh 11 thousand 252 in the development head, Taka 1 crore 58 lakh in the capital head while Taka 133 crore was earmarked in the project head.
Tanzilur Rahman, secretary of the Poursahava presented power point presentation of the budget documents. Members of the TLCC and other citizens took part in the discussion.
Presenting the budget the mayor sought the cooperation of all particularly the citizens for the successful implementation of the budget with utmost accountability and transparency.
