Faridpur Pourashava unveils Tk 139cr budget for 2014-15 fiscal

A total budget of Taka 139 crore 42 lakh 56 thousand for the 2014-15 fiscal year of Faridpur Pourashava, the biggest ever in size since the establishment of this local government institution in 1869, was unveiled Friday here at local Ambica Memorial hall yesterday giving special emphasis on infrastructure improvement.
Mayor of Faridpur Pourashava Shaikh Mahatab Ali Methu announced the budget in presence of a large number of citizens of this pourashava.
The revised budget of the outgoing 2013-14 fiscal was Taka 42 crore 30 lakh 45 thousand 464 while the new budget for next fiscal stood at Taka 139 crore 42 lakh.
In the budget document an amount of Taka 23 crore 11 lakh 81 thousand 92 was shown in the revenue head, Taka 8 crore 52 lakh 11 thousand 252 in the development head, Taka 2 crore 78 lakh in the capital head while Taka 105 crore 29 thousand 625 was earmarked in the project head.
Presenting the budget the mayor sought the cooperation of all particularly the citizens for the successful implementation of the budget with utmost accountability and transparency.
The budget meeting was also addressed, among others, by Sadar Upazilla parishad chairman Khondoker Mohtesham Hossain Babor, BSS Correspondent Prof. Shahjahan, Faridpur Diabetic Association Secretary Prof. Sheikh Abdus Samad, Councilor Anisur Rahman Choudhury and NGO activist Asma Akhter Mukta.
