Farhana Afroz Mili is a celebrated actress in the country’s drama arena. She has dreamt to be an actress during her childhood. For this reason, during that time she has attached herself with acting. After acting in theatre plays, Mili acted in television dramas and movies and also performed as a model in TV commercials. In 1995, she first acted under the banner of Kishore Theatre in a children theatre festival organised by People’s Theatre. From that time to till date she has been engaged with theatre plays though she also took a break for some days. Loko Natyadal’s one of the successful
productions, Toposhi O Torongini was staged
25 years ago. Buddhadeb Basu scripted and Liaquat Ali Lucky directed this drama is taking preparation to stage for last five years. That preparation has come into the final stage.
On June 5, technical show of Toposhi O Torongini will be held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital’s Segunbagicha area.
In role of Torongini, many actresses earlier acted. This time Farhana Mili will be seen to play the role of Torongini. Besides acting in TV dramas, performing as a model in TVCs and also hosting, Mili is continuing acting in theatre plays. She wants to give more time on the stage again. For this reason, she is trying to give more time to play Toposhi O Torongini.
The people by whom Mili is working in theatre play they are also giving inspiration to continue acting on the stage. Specially Mili’s mother Rana Anjuman is giving her full support to continue acting in theatre plays during Mili’s childhood.
While sharing her feelings to act in the theatre play again Farhana Mili said, “I came from the stage. I became an actress from theatre plays. When for acting I stand on the stage I think it is my real address. Theatre is my comfort zone. I never detached from theatre. I was close to it but I couldn’t give proper time for some days. But it is really a significant matter for me that I am going to play the role of Torongini though Lucky Sir. I am really feeling well now. I have a lot of passion and love for theatre plays which I realise when I stand on the stage. It is the place of my life.”
