The Bagerhat Press Club accorded farewell reception to outgoing Bagerhat Superintendent of Police (SP) Pankaj Chandra Roy (PPM) on Thursday evening.
Pankaj Chandra Roy has been transferred from Bagerhat to the CID headquarters in Dhaka.
The ceremony was presided over by Nihar Ranjan Saha, President of Bagerhat Press Club.
Shafim Mahmud, Additional Policed Super of Bagerhat addressed the farewell meeting as the special guest. Bagerhat Press Club General Secretary Abdul Baki Talukdar, Vice-president Nakib Sirajul Haq, senior members Adv. Md. Mozaffor Hossion and Prof. ABM. Mosharraf Husain and members Shaikh Ahsanul Karim, Ahad Uddin Haidar, Babul Sardar, Shawkat Ali Babu, Delwar Hossain, among others, also spoke at the meeting.
It may be mentioned that Superintendent of Police Pankaj Chandra Roy has spent 10 years in Bagerhat. He joined Bagerhat on July 5, 2010. He said he would soon join the CID Headquarters, Dhaka as a Special Police Super.
