Family members of missing Buddhist monk threatened

The family members of a missing Buddhist monk under Raozan upazila in the district was threatened , it is alleged.
 The monk went abroad in 2005 and his family doesn’t know his whereabouts since then.
He is identified as Shasanaratna Thero, son of late Chitta Ranjan Barua of East Binajuri also resident monk of East Binajuri Sarbojanin Moitri Niketan Bihar & Meditation Centre.
His family members alleged that some unidentified people visited their home looking for Shasanaratna Thero for a number of days. Failing to get any information about the monk, they threatened his family members . Some four unidentified persons came again to look for the monk at around 3pm on 12 April, 2014. They threatened to kill his family members if the family of the monk failed to give his whereabouts within a week or produce him before them within a month.
Following the incident, the family members of Shasanaratna Thero are facing lack of security and passing their days in anxiety and fear.
Mentionable that Gyanojoti Mohasthabir, 52, founder Director General of Wara Punya Bouddha Anathalaya at village Hingala under Raozan upazila, was brutally killed by terrorists at the orphanage that he had built, Shasanaratna Thero played a very active role demanding the exemplary punishment of the murderers.
