BGB firing in Thakurgaon: Families of 3 deceased get Tk 20,000 each

Families of three deceased, who were killed in a clash between villagers and members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Thakurgaon, have been given Tk 20,000 each.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kamruzzaman Selim on Wednesday paid the money to each of the victims’ families for burial.
Earlier, the bodies were handed over to the families after autopsy.
Meanwhile, a three-member probe committee has been formed to investigate Tuesday’s clash between villagers and members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) that left
three persons killed in Haripur upazila of Thakurgaon.
The body headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Nur Kutubul Alam was formed by the local administration on Tuesday night, said Deputy Commissioner Dr AKM Kamruzzaman Selim.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, three men were killed and at least 18 others injured after BGB members opened fire during cow importing what the paramilitary force claimed, a clash with cattle smugglers at Bahrampur village in Haripur upazila, reports media.
Those who were involved in instigating people to do the act will be brought to book after investigation, said Tuhin.
Meanwhile, a tense situation was prevailing in and around the area following the incident.
Additional policemen have been deployed in the area to avert further trouble, said Mohammad Amiruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Haripur Police Station.
