UNB, Sherpur :
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a special drive seized huge amount of spirit and fake mobil from a factory in the town and arrested its owner on Sunday noon.
The arrested was identified as M Shajahan Mia, 35, son of Jafor Ali of Purbashheri area of the town.
Rab-14 camp commander M Anisuzzaman said being tipped off, the Rab members conducted a drive at Shajahan’s factory and recovered 721-litre fake mobil, 2,000 pieces of empty jerkin and arrested the factory’s owner. Later, a mobile court led by Sherpur executive magistrate Shamsuddin Munna sentenced Shajahan to one year’s imprisonment under section 30 of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution Ordinance, 1985.
