Police arrested a fake member of army from Shalta Bazar in Sharsha upazila of Jessore district on Monday night.
The arrestee was identified as Shamim Hossain, 20, son of Sabed Ali, a resident of Shalta village.
Officer-in-charge of Sharsha Police Station Maniruzzaman said Shamim used to work as a domestic help at the house of an army officer in the capital.
One week back, he stole a set of army dress from the house, quit the job and returned to his village.
On Monday night, he came to Shalta Bazar wearing the dress and tried to establish dominance in the area.
