FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Pirojpur maintained his solo lead in the points table of the Azimuddin Bhuiyan Trust 33rd National Sub-Junior (Under-16 Years) Chess Championship with maximum five points after 5th round games held on Friday at Chess Federation hall-room of National Sports Council.
Tahsin Mahmud of Chittagong followed the leader closely with 4.5 points.
Tanzina Akter Tani, Abdullah Al Sharhan Saikot, Jannatul Ferdous, M Miraj Hossain and Kanchan Gharami polced in third position with four points each.
In the day’s 5th round games, Fahad beat Subrata Biswas of Mymensing, Tahsin beat Rabbi Mridha, Tani beat Akib Jawad of Chittagong, Kanchan beat Nur Newaz Oyon of Nator, Saikot beat Faisal Ibrahim, Miraj beat Anata Choudhury, Jannatul beat
Swarnavo Choudhury and Nova Tasha of DPS STS School drew with Jamim Al Hamid of Moulovi Bazar.
The 6th round games will be held today (Saturday) at the same venue.
