National sub-junior FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman now took solo lead in the points table of the Union Insurance 34th National Junior (Under-20 years) Chess Championship with maximum 6 points each after the 6th round games now being held at the hall-room of Bangladesh Chess Federation.
Former junior champion Abdullah Al Saif, Akib Jawad and Minhazul Alam followed the lead with 4.5 points each.
In the day’s 5th round games, Fahad beat reigning junior champion Ikramul Haque Siam.
Seven players are sharing the 3rd position with 5 points each. They are Siam, Protiva Talukder, Avik Sarkar, Abdullah Al Muhit, Mahmud Sharif, Afrin Jahan Munia, Swarnavo Chowdhury In the 6th round: Avik beat Abdullah Al-Saif, Protiva beat Fahim Ahmed, Muhit beat Mushrat Jahan Momo, Sharif beat Abu Bakar Jibon, Munia beat M Mizaul Islam and Swarnova beat Anata Chowdhury.
The 7th round games start today (Monday) at 2:15 pm at the same venue.
